Belated

It's been quite some time since I've posted on here, so I figured I'd give you guys an update to what's going on in Denny-and-April-ville.

As you know we were planning a trip down to Florida. We have since gone and returned and it was a great trip! Ben wasn't able to go, but we still got to see my family (including my sister who currently lives in Albuquerque, NM) and all of our friends in Florida. You can view pictures from our trip on our photo album. As usual it's mostly babies and dogs.

In my last post I mentioned that we were stopping on our way down and signing the papers to finalize the acquisition of my other company. Well, all that went great so I now have a little wiggle room with projects and hiring new staff with my main consulting firm, Grinn Productions (soon to be Grinn, Inc.)

Both April and I have been very busy with work. As many of you know, my Dad is a client of mine. His company Player Profiles is the chief provider of information about baseball players to TV and radio announcers across the US. Recently I've been setting up his site to have the player statistics to be updated automatically with information streamed from Stats, LLC. (Formerly Stats, Inc.), the big-dog of sports statistics and analysis. This has been a fun project for all, and should really free up some time for Dad while making his stats more accurate and up-to-date for his clients.

Right now my wife April is temping in the accounting department of an international corporate construction company, and has been looking for more permanent opportunities here in Atlanta. About a month ago, April found out about a position at a company called Cbeyond Communications from another believer here in Atlanta. Word is that it's a great company to work for, and April would be able to work closely with Cassandra Nash, a believer and friend.

Well, April sent in her resume and we didn't hear from the company for quite some time. Instead of getting discouraged, April got persistent; Calling and emailing her contact in HR regularly. Eventually the dude got back to her. It turns out there was a mix up. The HR guy thought the position she was vying for had been filled, but realized his error. She's going to an interview with him tomorrow.

Well, I've about worn myself out with this long post and I haven't even started working yet! I'll just have to give you a quick run-down of everything else:
  • My birthday is April 28th and I'm buying myself a Robosapien V2. Yes, I know it's a toy - No, I don't care.
  • Over the weekend we helped our friends Courtney and Kanika move into their first house.
  • I finally got my Christmas present: dual 19" flat-panel monitors from Dell. I may post pics later.
  • Josh is doing good. He's thinking of getting a gas-powered RC car.
  • We're all in love with a new music service called Pandora. Check it out.
  • I've now had two people in this apartment complex try and sell me drugs.
  • We're going to visit my brother Don and his family near the end of May.
